Akagera Game Lodge (or similar luxury camp)
Before sunrise, begin your first full day of game viewing through the diverse ecosystems of Akagera—from open savannahs to woodlands and wetlands. With expert guiding, you’ll seek out elephants, giraffes, lions, zebras, buffalo, leopards, and many more. Return for lunch and continue with an afternoon game drive or optional walking safari. Evening sunset and dinner at the lodge.

Dinner and overnight near the volcanoes.

Rise early and enjoy breakfast before heading to the Volcanoes Park HQ for a briefing. Then trek into the lush bamboo and montane forest in search of a habituated gorilla family. The hike may take between 2–6 hours depending on their location but rewarding you with a magical one-hour encounter. Return to your lodge for lunch and an afternoon of relaxation or optional cultural visit to Iby’Iwacu Village.
