You’ll be met at Kigali International Airport (or your city hotel) and driven north through Rwanda’s verdant hills (2.5-3 hours) to Volcanoes National Park in Musanze/Kinigi. Rise early for breakfast before journeying to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking etiquette. Then, accompanied by expert guides (and optional porters), you’ll trek through the lush rainforest in search of your allocated gorilla family. This journey typically takes between 2 and 6 hours depending on location, followed by a precious 1-hour face-to-face encounter. Afterward, return to the lodge for a hot lunch and spend the rest of the day at your leisure or enjoying the lodge ambience. Dinner and overnight.
