Enjoy an early breakfast before bidding farewell to Lake Nakuru. Travel southwest along the floor of the Rift Valley, passing local villages and changing landscapes as you approach the Masai Mara. Arrive at your Masai Mara lodge or tented camp in time for lunch, followed by a brief rest. In the late afternoon, embark on your first game drive across the reserve’s rolling savannahs. Look out for resident wildlife, including herds of zebras, antelopes, and buffalos, as well as iconic predators like lions and cheetahs. With luck, you’ll witness dramatic hunts or river crossings if traveling during the Great Migration season (typically July–October). Return at sunset for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the sounds of nature.
